Services
Regular visits, matched to your family
We support people to maintain their independence and enjoy the confidence this brings. Every visit is at least two hours, so there is time to enjoy your plans without feeling rushed, and we are happy to extend visits to suit you, particularly where travel is involved.

One to one support for people with dementia
Support is tailored to your loved one’s likes, dislikes and choices. Life Story Workers bring resources with them, along with an electronic version that includes quizzes and reminiscence activities. Where a visit takes place at home, enjoyable, practical support runs for the whole visit.
Carer respite
Unpaid carers need regular breaks to keep up the energy and dedication that caring takes. We follow your lead. Some carers prefer to go out during visits, others prefer their loved one is taken out so they can rest quietly at home.

Companionship
It is good to know someone is coming who will focus on your loved one, as the world can feel smaller when people stop calling in. They can make plans with their Life Story Worker for the next visit, or sit and watch television together over a cup of tea. They know they are not alone, and you know they are safe.
Our allotment
Having our own allotment is something that sets us apart. Everyone can enjoy it, and it is a safe space for our Life Story Workers and the people we support to enjoy time together outdoors.

More ways we can help
Community access
There might be a group your loved one attends, or a sporting activity they enjoy. A trip to the shops or a walk through the woods, a Life Story Worker makes it possible and keeps them company while their needs are met.
An allotment
Being outside often makes people feel better, and the allotment is the perfect spot for it. Whether your loved one enjoys gardening and would like a potter round the beds, or prefers to sit on a bench and watch the world go by, it is a place of peace and quiet. Their Life Story Worker is happy to take them along.
Transport to medical appointments
Getting to appointments matters. If your loved one cannot drive, or relies on public transport that does not fit the timings, this becomes difficult. Even when it falls outside the usual visit day, we are always happy to try and get them there on time.
Meal preparation assistance
Whether it is a light snack, a cake or some batch cooking for the week, we enjoy helping your loved one prepare food during visits. Where food is made in advance and a visit spans a mealtime, we are happy to serve it at the time you choose. Your loved one is always offered drinks of their choice during any visit.
Emotional support
If you are feeling overwhelmed, worn down by sleepless nights and a never-ending list of things to do, we are here to listen, over the phone or in person. Our Care Managers give you the time to share your worries, and offer practical solutions.
Advice and information
Whether the diagnosis is new or behaviour has changed, we are here to answer your questions and point you to the agencies and professionals best placed to help. There is a lot to navigate, with plenty of names and organisations to remember. Ask your Life Story Worker, or give us a call, the phone is always answered.
