Our service allows individuals to maintain their independence and enjoy the confidence this brings. We offer one to one support for people with Dementia and provide regular respite for their carers in their own home and local community.

Dementia@Home is as an established business, created from the extensive experience of our founding Directors. Their collective skills ensure a blend of quality, safety, and professionalism in our service provision.

Our specialist service encompasses carer respite and dementia support within the comfort of the clients’ homes. With a dedicated team of trained support , we prioritise person-centred care tailored to the unique needs of individuals with particular focus on creating life stories.

At Dementia@Home, we champion autonomy and individuality. We strive to deliver exceptional community-based dementia care with a warm, flexible approach. Our ethos revolves around promoting independence, respecting choice, and upholding dignity and respect for all, free from any form of bias or discrimination.

We aim to provide the opportunity for much-needed respite, enabling carers to take time for their own well-being and pursue personal interests and hobbies with reassurance and without compromise.

Dementia FAQ's

We support people to remain engaged with activities they enjoy, at home or in the community. This provides confidence in their ability through routine and continuity to live well with purpose.

Carer well-being is a priority our service allows you to take a break feeling reassured the person you care for is safe so that you can enjoy a period of respite.

The content of visits are discussed and agreed with you when we meet with you. Some options could include going for a walk, getting a cup of coffee, shopping, attending groups, taking a drive through the our beautiful County, completing puzzles or just sitting quietly to have a conversation. The choice will always be yours.

A life story is a very personal thing. It can be an album with photos and memories spanning a lifetime. A book filled with handwritten notes about a specific time is a persons life, a recipe or favourite pieces of music.

There is no standard life story but every one is special and we understand the importance of creating these should you wish too.

We work with a number of people who live alone, some have family who do not live locally and some who do not have family, we can support you.

We have years of experience supporting people with dementia and their families, we are happy to help you with any questions or concerns, even if you decide our service is not for you.

This is more common than you might think, we can help you navigate through introducing support

Live in carers are entitled to 2 hours break per day, we can provide support with this.

Our phone line is open Monday to Friday 8.30 -5.00 

If you have any concerns or questions we will be happy to hear from you and listen to these. 

We carry our regular reviews with our clients but if you feel changes are required our Care Co-ordinator will discuss these with you.

Meet the team

Sally Haddrell-Jenks - CEO

Sally is an experienced Registered Manager achieved MBA with distinction and holds Chartered Fellow status with the Chartered Management Institute. She has has 14 years experience working in dementia support and carer respite. Sally is responsible for ensuring our clients receive the highest standards of support at all times whilst ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission regulations.

Kate Hanny - Business Operations Director

Kate has over 20 years experience in administration and organisational roles, including 6 years in Dementia support and Carer respite. As the service manager her role is to support the Registered Manager in compliance with the Care Quality Commission and to maintain accurate records and auditing procedures ensuring the service is run efficiently and in the best interests of the service users and their families.
